side by side.

About google shopping

What it does well.

Google Shopping is the shopping part of Google's search. Merchants submit product feeds, and it lists offers from a very large number of stores, with filters, product details, reviews and, for many products, price insights. Offers for the same product are typically grouped using product identifiers such as GTIN, brand and part number. Results can include sponsored listings alongside free ones, and are labelled when they do.

  • 01

    Enormous coverage

Offers from a very large number of merchants and countries, far more than Vesim covers today.

  • 02

    Rich product pages

Specifications, reviews and ratings, and often local stock information, gathered in one place.

  • 03

    Price insights

For many products it shows typical price ranges and history, and can alert you to a drop.

  • 04

    Branded goods

Where products carry a barcode or part number, grouping offers by those identifiers works well.

Where Vesim differs

Four things on every answer.

What Vesim does that a tool built for a different job typically does not.

  • 01

It matches the photo, not the title

Sellers rename the same product many ways but rarely change the supplier's photo. Vesim reduces each photo to a 64-bit fingerprint and treats listings within 10 bits as the same object, so renamed copies line up.

  • 02

It shows the cheapest that fits

Your budget and where it ships from are gates, not hints. Anything that fails one is removed before sorting, and the cheapest of what is left is the answer. If a cheaper one failed, it says which requirement it failed.

  • 03

    It says when nothing fits

If nothing meets every requirement, the answer is a clear zero and what came closest, never a page of near misses presented as results.

  • 04

    It sells nothing

Vesim holds no stock, takes no checkout and sells no placements. Some outbound links may earn an affiliate commission, which is disclosed and never changes the order.

Same product. Words, or the photo?

Two real listings from the index. Matched on their titles, they barely look related. Matched on their photos, they are plainly the same thing. Switch between the two.

Where Vesim is not yet better

The honest part.

What you give up by using Vesim today. Each of these is being worked on, and none of them is hidden elsewhere on the site.

  • 01

    One catalogue today

Vesim is built to search millions of products. Today it searches one connected catalogue; the networks that bring thousands of stores each are on the way. Until they connect, its coverage is a small fraction of what large shopping tools cover.

  • 02

    No price history yet

Price history cannot be backfilled, and Vesim's first daily price check has not run. Charts and drop alerts come with Plus, which opens as a waitlist.

  • 03

    No reviews or specifications

Vesim shows the product, its sellers and their prices. It does not collect reviews, ratings or detailed specifications, so read those on the seller's page.

Typical behaviour, stated as plainly as we can. Where something varies, it says partly.

When to use which

If you want the widest possible view of a branded product, with reviews and specifications in one place, a large shopping search is the better tool today. If you want the cheapest seller of a specific thing that meets your budget and ships from where you need, and want to be told when nothing does, that is what Vesim is built for.

Questions

What people ask.

Is Vesim better than Google Shopping?

It is different, and better at some things and not others. Vesim matches products by their photo, gates on your budget and ships-from, and says when nothing fits. Google Shopping covers far more stores today, has reviews and price history, and groups branded products well by their identifiers.

How does Vesim tell two listings are the same product?

It compares the product photographs. Each photo is reduced to a 64-bit perceptual fingerprint, and listings within 10 bits of each other are treated as the same object. Measured on 60 real product photos, this found 98% of true matches with zero false matches.

Does Vesim show ads?

No. Vesim has no sponsored placements on any plan, and the order of results is never for sale. Some outbound links may earn an affiliate commission, which is disclosed and does not change the order.

Why does Vesim have fewer products?

Vesim connects one catalogue today. It is built to search millions of products, and the store networks that bring thousands of stores each are connecting over the coming weeks.
